Teenage counseling, also known as adolescent therapy, is a specialized form of therapy that addresses the unique developmental, emotional, and behavioral challenges faced by teenagers (typically ages 13-19). This type of counseling aims to help teens navigate the complex transitional phase from childhood to adulthood, fostering their mental health, emotional well-being, and personal growth. All sessions are confidential, and the information shared by the teen will not be disclosed without their consent, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to themselves or others, or as required by law. While parents or guardians may be involved, the teen's privacy is respected, and sensitive information is shared only with the teen's permission. Parent/Guardian Involvement: Parents or guardians are involved to the extent that it supports the teen's therapy, respecting the teen's confidentiality and autonomy. Open communication between the counselor and parents is encouraged, focusing on the teen's well-being while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Cultural Sensitivity: The counselor respects and is sensitive to the cultural, religious, and personal values of the teen. Therapy is tailored to accommodate and respect these values.
